Burdock root is not exactly a household name in North America, but it’s been used for food, tea, and medicine in the East for…ever. But Burdock Root Juice is here to surprise you.
You might have to schlep to your local Chinatown markets to get your hands on these roots, but burdock root juice is worth it – especially if a thorough liver detox is at the forefront of your juicing desires.
‘Though burdock root contains a good amount of vital vitamins and minerals (vitamins C and E, folic acid, riboflavin, niacin, iron, manganese, magnesium, zinc, selenium, and phosphorus), as well as the electrolyte potassium – burdock’s true goodness is found in its detox and purification benefits.

Burdock root might not be as palate-friendly as basil or cilantro – the root tastes a little bitter, almost smoky, and very earthy/woodsy. It really grows on you, you’ll fall in love before your taste buds have even decided whether it likes the taste or not 🙂
