Juicing is one of the best decisions you can make for your health, but the truth is – it might not be as friendly to your wallet. If you’re looking to get started juicing and want the best juicer for the money – here are our favorite picks. They’re all under $200.
1. The OldPAPA Manual Juicer
This is probably the best cheap juicer on the market. It’s less than half the cost of the Lexen manual juicer (below), and a fraction of the price of other juicers that offer this sort of juice quality.
The OldPAPA manual juicer is unique in that it’s basically a single auger, masticating type of juicer without the motor, which means the same process of extraction with no heat and better preservation of nutrients and enzymes.
This juicer is a little easier to use than the manual juicer below because the size of the hopper (where you load the chopped produce) is a little bigger, but the ease of cranking is about the same. You can also juice a pretty wide variety of produce in the OldPAPA, such as leafy greens (obviously), as well as harder produce like carrots, apples, ginger and even softer fruits like tomatoes.
2. LEXEN Manual Wheatgrass Juicer
This juicer is hands down the most affordable vegetable juicer – it’s perfect for people who are just starting out juicing and want to test out the waters. Oh, and want to juice mostly leafy greens (which come with loads of benefits).
It’s very affordable compared to other high-quality juicers and it performs superbly – it’s great at juicing wheatgrass and other delicate leafy greens such as spinach, parsley, kale, collard greens, etc.
The juice yield is high and the pulp is usually dry, so it does an excellent job of really extracting the juice from the produce. You can also juice harder produce like carrots and apples on this juicer, but it’s real strength lies in leafy greens.
This is the perfect start-out juicer. The best part is that when you decide you want to move on to juicing a wider variety of produce and invest in a more advanced juicer, you can still use this one as a travel juicer 🙂
3. Breville BJE200XL Juice Fountain Compact Chrome Extractor
If you’re going to get a centrifugal juicer, the Breville juicers are the best. And out of the Breville juicers, the Breville BJE200XL Juice Fountain Compact Chrome Extractor is the best value. It’s also one of the easiest to put together, use and to clean.
It also doesn’t have the problems that the Hamilton Beach juicer has, at least not to the same extent – the pulp produced by this juicer is much drier, although the juice is still a bit foamy, especially when juicing soft fruits (overall, I don’t recommend juicing soft fruits and veggies in centrifugal juicers in general).
Still, considering the ease of use – this is a great juicer for convenience alone. Plus, the design is beautiful and built for ease and functionality.
4. Breville JE98XL Juice Fountain Plus 850-Watt Juice Extractor
This juicer is very affordable for a Breville juicer especially considering its versatility. It bypasses many of the typical concerns for centrifugal juicers – for example, most centrifugal juicers are not great for juicing leafy greens, but this one does a pretty good job of it.
It also excels in juicing hard, fibrous veggies (its forte) and is good at juicing softer fruits as well. a huge plus for this juicer is its low-heat quality (less than 1.8F), ensuring higher quality of juice and retention of natural nutrients.
Plus, it is incredibly easy to use, fast in juicing, and easy to clean up.
5. Breville BJE510XL Ikon 900-Watt Variable-Speed Juice Extractor
This is hands down the best Breville juicer in this price range. It’s ridiculously convenient – simple to put together and incredibly easy to use, as well as to clean.
There are only 3 pieces to put in place, which means only seconds to assemble the machine and start juicing. And a quick few minutes to disassemble and clean.
If you’re not a fan of cutting up all your produce into small pieces before you juice, this machine is great for you. It has an extra-wide feed chute and a built-in smart chip that automatically increases power to the cutting disc under heavy loads so you can toss in whole apples and carrots and still juice quickly and easily.
This juicer is also versatile and does a good job with leafy greens, soft fruits, as well as hard, fibrous veggies. Oh, and it makes fruit smoothies too.
