Juicing for Hair Loss? How It Works and How to Do It

how to juice for hair loss

By now most of us realize how powerful raw juice can be when it comes to health. Vegetable and fruit juices can be used to treat so many different conditions, it’s no wonder certain combinations have been labelled ‘wonder drugs’ by fans.

Physical health benefits associated with raw juice have become so mainstream that now we’re even starting to understand how powerful juice can be when it comes to cosmetic issues.

How Does Juicing for Hair Loss Work?

Hair loss is an issue that has mystified healthcare professionals since just about forever. Why do some people experience pattern baldness and others don’t?

At different points in time, experts have found connections for baldness in the areas of genetics, environment and even lifestyle. So with so many potential triggers and influences on promoting baldness, it should come as no surprise that there are just as many ways to prevent it.

The link between nutrition and beauty is becoming more and more understood. Today we know certain clays, for example, can be used to improve the appearance of the skin while also pulling toxins from the body. Juices also work to improve physical health while doing double duty in terms of cosmetic improvement.

There is a growing group of people who believe the alkaline state of your body directly impacts male pattern baldness. This isn’t just some shot in the dark, either.

One of the leading causes or contributors to male pattern baldness is a rise in testosterone being converted to dihydrotestosterone, or DHT. In order to lower that conversion rate, men can change their diet to alter the pH levels in their body. The object is to create a more alkaline internal state and move away from inner acidity.

In the scalp, it has been shown that alpha-5-reductase (which converts testosterone into DHT) is inhibited in more alkaline conditions, so changing the pH balance of your body can affect the rate at which DHT is created in the scalp, and thereby minimize hair loss.

How to Juice for Hair Loss

In order to lower acidity and promote a more alkaline body, various juice recipes can be used to alter these levels from the inside.

Using vegetables known to impact alkaline states are a great beginning for any juice mix. Cruciferous vegetables like cucumber, broccoli, spinach and kale are all excellent starting points. A mixture of these vegetables will help to quickly alkalize your body.

There are many different mixes you can find that use these vegetables as a basis. Once you try a few different recipes, it will be easy for you to create one based on your personal tastes. A popular foundation recipe uses a variety of vegetables and almonds to create a creamy, smooth drink.

Here’s how to make it…

Basic Almond and Vegetable Juice

1 cup raw almonds
2 carrots
1 stalk celery
4 cauliflower florets
¼ cup cucumber
½ cup strawberries or blackberries
Handful of spinach or kale

Soak the almonds overnight then run them through your juicer until you are left only with pulp. This can take several passes through a juicer. You can also use a high speed blender. Once you’ve extracted as much cream as possible, use a muslin cloth to squeeze the almond milk out of the remaining pulp. Add your vegetables and berries and either juice or blend until you have the desired consistency.

This is a popular recipe as it can easily be tailored to incorporate your own favorite vegetables. Choose fruits that are nutrient dense so that every ingredient adds to the power of the drink as well as the flavor.

The state of your body directly affects the state of your hair. Yes, all men are different in regards to their predisposition to hair loss, but at the same time, male (and female) pattern baldness can be positively affected by maximizing nutrients, minerals and enzymes reaching the hair, and minimizing toxins in the blood. This is why vegetable juicing can have such a big impact on pattern baldness

The lemon ginger blast helps invigorate and alkalize, whilst flushing through the digestive system and removing impacted mucus from the walls of the digestive tract. This helps the exchange of nutrients into the body and removal of wastes out of the body.

Lemon Ginger Blast

2 lemons
2 limes
3 oranges
Small piece of fresh ginger (about a half inch, but more if you like)

Juice the limes, lemons and orange then add the ginger and put it through your juicer or high speed blender. This is a powerful little drink and can take some getting used to. But it provides a jolt of energy thanks to the ginger.

This combination of citrus with fresh ginger promotes a more alkaline state to aid with baldness and also promotes healthier digestion.

Create Your Own Hair Loss Juice Recipes

You can always create juices and smoothies from any combination of fruits and vegetables which promote an internal alkaline state. These include:

  • Arugula
  • Avocado
  • Basil
  • Beets
  • Broccoli
  • Carrots
  • Cauliflower
  • Celery
  • Chia
  • Cilantro
  • Coconut
  • Cucumber
  • Cumin
  • Dandelion
  • Ginger
  • Grapefruit
  • Kale
  • Lemon
  • Lime
  • Pomegranate
  • Pumpkin & Pumpkin Seeds
  • Spinach
  • Sprouts
  • Tomato

Using any combination of these as a foundation for your juicing and smoothies can minimize and prevent hair loss. Best of all, regular vegetable juicing supports whole body health,  and helps with growing strong, thick and beautiful hair.

These are great tips to deal with baldness in a natural way. I know a friend who’s turning thirty and I noticed his hairline is receding faster than most of the guys I know. I’ll recommend this to him.
